Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Anyone here that would prefer to be laid off? Why?

I am 62 and I'd take the money and run. The math works for me and I just need healthcare. I've been working since I was 19, I am so done.

@a4 says: "...I can take the hit for a teammate who is not ready to leave yet..."
after saying, "I told my next level up that I am ready to go when the next RiF comes. Sadly I was not in the voluntary pool last time around or I would have taken that in a heartbeat."
altruism or fake martyrdom?

Between the system issues with all those bad new tools that clearly don’t work, the increasing metrics that focus on revenue and not integrity, the new people they are hiring in with no moral skills but they aggressively focus on pushing numbers, I thought I’d never consider it but I’m really tired. I am incredibly grateful for the job and what it does financially for me but mentally this job is driving me up the wall, I am open to hearing all options and going from there because at this point all I see is the frontline pushing products and upsetting customers and less support for just doing the right thing. That was never the brand and I do not know now who we are some days

Lol... get back to work or just hang it up and take a dirt nap.

Golf and tennis club is now closed old man. Go ahead, su-k it up and start commuting to work 5x a week.

Welcome back to work like the rest of us.

PARTY IS OVER.

@OP me! I told my next level up that I am ready to go when the next RiF comes. Sadly I was not in the voluntary pool last time around or I would have taken that in a heartbeat. I truly appreciate my 28+ years with Verizon, I will be able to fully retire at age 58. Hoping if the 11/20 rumors are true I can take the hit for a teammate who is not ready to leave yet.

Super checked out. Within the past week, I’ve been able to figure something out in the scenario I’m laid off. I don’t care if I leave… In fact, I’d almost prefer it. All of the BS we have to deal with in stores has gotten the best of me, anyways.
