DXC today announced it has been chosen as the successful Master Vendor to deliver BPO services as well as ERP and Resource Management (RM) replacement systems, to the Metropolitan Police Service ("the Met"), the UK's largest police force. The 7+1+1 year contract was awarded to DXC following a competitive tender process.

DXC will modernise how the Met deploys their resources, through the delivery of replacement ERP and RM systems, as well as helping to transform certain HR, Commercial and Finance services. It will enable the Met to use real time data to respond better to local needs and priorities, streamline internal processes and deliver significant savings by reducing unnecessary costs. The transformation will also enhance collaboration across departments, improve transparency, and ensure that technology investments directly support frontline policing.

@k6 Think you find the situation has expanded out now with the UK trade deal with India and info as follows:-

For Individuals

Police Officers/Staff: To join the Met Police as a police officer, individuals must be a British citizen, an EU/EEA citizen with settled status, a Commonwealth citizen, or a foreign national with indefinite leave to remain in the UK without restrictions.

British citizens of Indian ethnicity are fully eligible to apply and are encouraged to do so as part of efforts to make the police force representative of the population it serves.

Contractors: Individuals working as contractors for the Met Police must also meet stringent security vetting requirements (up to Developed Vetting level for some sensitive posts). As long as an individual has the legal right to work in the UK and passes the required security checks, their nationality in itself is not a barrier for non-reserved posts.

We've had offshore Indian workers working on projects plenty of time provided they have the clearance even during CSC days

Met Police do their own SC and it’s harder to get than MoD SC!!

Nobody from India or anywhere else works on met police.

Offshore resources will be allowed providing DXC meets UK security and data protection requirements; has full compliance with contractual clauses on confidentiality, audit, and incident reporting and that sensitive data is either anonymized or processed within UK/EU jurisdictions unless explicit safeguards and approvals are in place. [Procurement Act 2023, UK DPA 2018) and s/w security code of practice. Old systems. Steam built. DXC should make some cash.

Can’t recall a single large UK project that actually made it to the finish line. they either get axed by the customer or quietly put down by the company once the write-offs get too embarrassing. I’m amazed they even managed to dig up a reference. There aren’t exactly hordes of UK clients lining up to vouch for us, least of all in the public sector.

In 2016 csc won a deal with... The met police.

If you mean elsewhere, same year there was a $100m contract with (Australia) NSW transport.

There were still a few things coming along back then, despite M1's trashing of csc.... But of course the worst was yet to come.

Did we overpromise — or just give it away as a loss leader hoping for some good news?
It can be done, but only if we strip out the wasted time, invest in modern systems, and, above all, reward the people actually doing the work.

Not this nonsense of bringing in contractors on 4x the salary, expecting existing staff to train them, and then acting like that’s all fine while their own reward stays at 0%.

UKI Del boy Allison was buzzing with the win.

CSC had Met police before but lost it.

Its good 9 year contract let see if they can deliver and keep it, they have to reward and keep the staff to perform.
