Switching carrier after RIFs

How long does Verizon let you keep the 50% employee discount after leaving? I upgraded my phone earlier this year, so I’d still owe on that, but I’m trying to figure out how long the discount stays before I lose it. Any former employees know how it works?

@ej this is why I understand the purge. We need it. Its so much... incompetence.

Its just who is making the decisions and will they be the right ones is the real question.

People worrying about the wrong bullsh-t got us exactly where we're at today, so I wouldn't be upset at the reduction if it was truly fair.

I left Verizon and came back, my discount stayed for 5 months.

Pretty sure it’s not a primary concern but it’s a valid question. Can people post in peace without trolls coming to annoy every post?

Your primary concern about separation is your phone plan?

This post is telling, we all know that plans are just way too expensive. I do not know of any employees that were rif'd, VSP, or retired that stayed with Vz. Most all went to Tmo or elsewhere.

Ends immediately. Plan for it.

It normally takes 2-3 business cycles for tha discount 2 fall off.

Good thing is that T-mobile and other companies will often buy u out of your device pay-mint.

If I’m rif-ed- I’m goin to t-mobile right away

My coworker that left on the VSP. Her next bill still had the discount but the following did not. I assume the billing cycle you are in keeps it.

However, if you want to disconnect or port out your number (within a short period of time after leaving vzw and you were on the employee phone program)…. If your phone is not broken you can return the phone and they will cancel the Device payment agreement allowing you to not have to pay for the remaining device. Or at least that is what she told me.

If we are really looking at 20k employees who all have a ton of lines on their employee accounts, we could be looking at some major churn!

When I retired they moved me to 25% before my next bill cut. I switched to T Mobile and never looked back.
