Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Accenture and PIP - How tightly coupled these are in USA

Accenture is well known for its PIP and easy way to get rid of employees.

Have any personal experience how often and prevalent these are? Describe your PIP experience, location, and if you were able to fight, pass.

@a1 Accenture HR is the worst. Those that get laid off and treated badly will have long memories. Those MD's that remain that put in the names of the heads to cull should be more involved in HR Discussions with tight oversight as to how they behave. There should not be a single discussion between HR and an employee alone. There needs to be witnesses. With Teams now, you should ask for a recording to keep everything that is said transparent. If you don't, this will and has impacted your current and future contracts for years to come. Hello Deloitte and Point B. Hello!

@a1 yes, worst HR in my 30 year career, especially with Cruella at the helm. I wonder if there has been any more posts from her Yacht on Facebook with the CIO. Or did they figure out that that is probably frowned upon?

@fa Yea, you can't really ask any questions that indicate any lack of understanding, need for clarification, or concerns. You can only say yes sir, yes mam, I got it. And then root around in your peer group - with those you trust - to figure it out. I am so sorry this happened to you. Worst place i ever worked. I would go back to pure product work. I know it's rough out there but I would do it. Also the EU MD's are better - Shock I know - and there are some that like to hire Americans due to their ability to work well in the white space, dealing with ambiguity, etc. Keep your eyes out for opportunities there. All it takes is finding one hiring manager that likes your skill set and is willing to give you a chance. You will not get the same protections as those in the EU but the MD's are more sophisticated, smarter - sorry to those in the west who behave like Brutis -male or female - and they will treat you much better.

Accenture is king of the hill when it comes to getting rid of employees via PIP.

Hello All,
On Aprit 16th, 2024,1 began a new chapter of my career as a Manager, Technology in the Cloud Center of Excellence (COE) at Accenture. Having spent over a decade in core technology roles-coding in C#, Python, building Microservices, and architecting cloud-native solutions-

  • this was my first foray into the consulting world.
The transition was anything but easy. Consulting, I soon discovered, was a very different beast. It wasn't just about technical depth anymore-t was about navigating clients, expectations, ambiguity, multiple time zones, and delivering strategic outcomes with finesse.
I was lucky to have a strong People Lead
Po stood by me during this whirlwind and helped me acclimate to this new world.
The Incident That Changed Everything However, despite giving my all and receivi
a feedback in Workday, my journey took an unexpected and disheartening turn.
In my 5th month, Iwas approached by F

on role responsibilities and IST-aligned shittiminge
astewasty tirst time exploring this specific region.
Her response shocked me: "You can Google the time in Singapore."
To me, the question wasn't about timezone math—it was about understanding my working hours, client overlap expectations, and any out-of-normat working hour commitments. Untortunately, this exchange was misinterpreted.
    To my surprise
escalated the matter to my lead and further flagged it in a Talent Discussion forum, citing me for "attitude and behavioral concerns."
    What followed was devastating:
I was placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) even before completing 6 months because

I got PIP in 2023. Location Texas. I was on bench for 3 weeks, had 12 years working prior.

Very unfair game and tactics by HR and management.
