Compare yourself with tobacco companies and you will realize that you are a bad house in a bad neighborhood…. Shed your false pride please
The constant cliches (bet house in a bad neighborhood to the best house in the best neighborhood; league of our own etc etc) is just sickening, This is about cost cutting; nothing more; nothing less. Just be honest with the employee. We are cutting People in Canada, Australia, UK and replacing them with lower cost countries and praising the upside but not recognizing there will be institutional knowledge loss and there will be long term damage
Trying to change the 'neighborhood' by pretending to be a technology company ... in a league of our own ... the technology companies have market capitalization of multiple times this company so pretending to be a technology company ... This is not a growth industry in case you thought so, shareholders are just sticking around for the dividend
