@d0 No, electricity cost will not skyrocket because they are utilities regulated by the states. They get a certain amount of returns, but the price will not fluctuate like oil/gas.

The climate has been dramatically and constantly changing since well before the discovery and use of fossil fuels. Get a clue.

You’re all missing the point. The fact that Exxon funded to brainwash us that climate change is real, proves that it is. This happened since the 70’s. You chumps

South America is mostly under water at this point if the climate scientists were correct

Well, at least it will offset all the false climate alarmist information that has been spread for years.

@fs Corporations need the story of population growth and therefore global GDP growth to justify their business model and bring forever shareholder value.

@dz Well, China took the lead on this...years ago. A democratic society would never come to the realization of this fundamental issue.

Spot on @dz+1k9h3a24a In fact most of our problems are due too many people on this earth. Pollution, war, disease. When the human pop starts to decline, most of our problems will take care of themselves. The corporations will do everything they can to deflect and deny this fact.

The root cause of climate change is over-population.

No one has the cojones to tackle overpopulation yet.

@cp the government will never tell us what the next emergency is.
But I can, the growth of data centers will drive the increase in a need for electricity. The big corporations can afford to pay more and the cost will go up for average people. Much of the infrastructure cost is paid for by state government funds so the fees will go up to install the needed expansion.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is the cost of electricity will increase so much in the next few years, people in the south will be paying a lot for A/C to keep our houses cool enough to live. The joke is on the common people.

Taking bets on next emergency.. my bet is that we are running out of clean drinking water in the next few years or we are going to have to eat bugs due to overpopulation

@bg you write this as if the republicans don’t create their own fake “emergency crisis” events to spread. Both sides do it and those that don’t realize it are sheep following the wolf.

Sounds like they were ahead of their time. Bill Gates is now admitting that climate change is not that critical of a crisis. Looks like the Left has milked this sacred cow to death and now need a new crisis du jour to take over more of our freedoms.
