Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Value Miami Office

What’s up with it? The expo was cancelled and there’s rumor about the kitchen staff being laid off come December. Does this mean we’re staying at the old office? Does it mean we’re moving sooner than anticipated? Does anyone know?

@q0 spoken like a true, arrogant Verizon HQ employee. Tracfone was purchased because it had incredible marketshare in Prepaid, something Verizon couldn't dream of without buying it. Tracfone had extremely high revenue per employee, WAY above Verizon's. Since then, Verizon has gutted a company that actually had good culture and cut some very talented people. All to replace them with overpaid, arrogant droans that make decisions based on their personal opinions instead of feedback from customers. Verizon should have taken the opportunity to learn a thing or two from people that were passionate about their work instead of gutting it like a fish and continuing their long trend of buying companies and ruining them.

@gr when Verizon bought TF, everyone at TF should have been shown the door. It's the god damn wild West down there. Nothing worked like it should, nobody paid attention to following laws, and the risk to customers was staggering. If you were legacy tf, you never should have gotten a is job.

@gr well creating and managing the network is THE hard part. Reselling is nothing

Everything verizon buys is destroyed. Tracfone is the next blue jeans. Frontier will be next after that!

@a2 Whole Verizon should be run like the old TracFone (before 2018). 700 employee and 26 million customers. Sure it didn't have its own network. But I am also sure GNT does not have 100k+ people. We've been in this building for 20 years and we have a kitchen, so what? You know what we didn't have before? We never had big layoffs like these.

Value was set to move to a new building and that has been scrapped. There will only be critical personnel for value that will remain after the RIF with the Vz side absorbing many of the roles per my FP&A leader.

Anyone who eats in that cafe has serious problems. The health inspector should visit

I’d expect the Miami office to take the brunt of the RIF in order to eliminate the facility.

Employees working the cafeteria in BR are not employees, they work for third party vendors. ThebMiami location if not third party, should be. However, if this location isn't profitable and the cost is going up, whether 3rd party or not, would cause it to shutdown. I do know that all they sell is caffeine coffee as there is no decaffeinated or many other options. It is by far nowhere near what we have in BR. It should have been closed down like many other locations have.

Half the employees in Miami are asleep after lunch, most of them H1-Bs

Spoke with manager of the cafeteria and advise that they will be open until Dec 15, is this true or just a rumor?

Agree 100%. They should have shut the cafeteria/catering down years ago. The Value Miami staff (mostly Trac) barely showed up and would depart en masse right after lunch to "beat the traffic."

Miami has a small cafeteria, about an eighth the size of the one in Basking Ridge

The marketing team of 40 can only come up with changing the background colors for Total Wireless and expect to continue to have jobs here?

@a2 Miami is the Tracfone headquarters. The food from the kitchen staff isn't free. Value DOES have the largest marketshare in Prepaid, thanks to Tracfone. Learn some facts before you go off.

@a2 it's the old Trac offices. The Cafecitos are to die for.
