Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Layoffs outside North America

Hi everyone,

The mainstream media websites are mentioning global layoffs at IBM however from what I have seen so far it has only been US and Canada.

Does anyone know if a next round is expected within this quarter for the rest of the Geos and Markets?

Thanks

Yes when I got RA’d Tuesday wasn’t at all surprised. You have to be reaaaaally loved by your leaders to be protected from the dreaded RA list. One little mistake and ur goner.

@ck Dinesh is another incompetent South Indian b-m just like Alvind (AK is a Tamil je----f) and that is why these South Indians have been ganging up and putting all the new IBM business centers in South India. It is not rocket science, they are very clannish and eventually they will seek to draw all the US business they can grab and steal to their home states in India. Just wait and see... all they do is put up a lot of social media sites and pages to illustrate how close they all are; just go to Dinesh's blog on-line and you will see what I mean. I would fire the lot of them for cause in the US - the total failure to keep a healthy and profitable company from getting into the dustbin because of their incompetence. AK needs to be fired first. I would also add Gin 'n Tonic (Ginny) to the list and claw back all her compensation. A Despicable lot of executives.

Echoing the fact that most employees in India are doing nothing that brings value or business to IBM. I was forced to train many they brought on as "writers" who could barely speak English and made content worse as IBM settled for publishing garbage quality.

@b1 if AK is gone in 2026, Indians will no longer be a protected species at IBM. As indeed it should be, since most of them are not doing anything that brings value or business to the company. You can hire pencil pushers and bureaucrats too in the US and Canada, and with AI coming on line more and more, the future for most (if not all) of these jobs is cloudy at best. So much for the BS about "follow the sun" methodology when AI can do it all 24 x7.

Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it.

Given big sales force transformation is expected, this will be global latest in January.
