Can't wait to use my sick days, now that I will be getting colds & flu due to RTO.

The talk the talkers will love in office. They will flutter around, asking stupid questions, looking busy. The doers will stay home or at their hoteled desk doing the work that the talk the talkers will then take credit for. The talk the talkers have always achieved at Ford while the quiet doers get shown the door.

And since the talk the talkers are the ones that get promoted, in the office mandates are a forgone conclusion.

Go back into the office. You can then work shorter hours and get less done. Sounds ok to me. See you there!

@cai+1k9dzDWt There are positions that are not good candidates for WFH. However, I believe that if you do your job well from home, then training can be done from home too. In the office, people can interrupt you at any time to ask about something. At home, people can do it too. I know because sometimes I think my job is to answer questions :) instead of doing my projects.

Now, in order for this to work, you'd need stability, like providing a known schedule and sticking to it. In the office I was an early bird because I was supporting Europe and India. At home I do the same, so it is easy for people to get a hold of me. People in training need to know that they are welcome to contact you for doubts. Shadowing someone is great for learning too, and can be done really well in Webex.

I have worked from home before Ford, I was trained remotely, and I trained others remotely. It can be done successfully.

If you don’t want to work from home and find a new job! This is a post COVID-19 world and it’s time to get rid of all those boomers who want to come to the office
because that’s all they know..

It is well documented that teams work more effectively remotely for the general bs meetings. Those who work in then lab, plant or are on launch will come in as needed without some DF making Hawaiian shirt day 1x/ week

I want to have a long future at Ford. RTO is the only way I see for me to be successful in the long run at Ford. The limited WFH webex interactions aren’t great and the having to call my boss to collaborate on work that is new to me has been very difficult to say the least. I don’t want to be targeted because of my limited network. WFM has been great to get things done at home, but I am ready to get back to working hard onsite and start building my Ford career again.

Do not RTO. Just quit Ford before it goes out of business and move to a better company.

Get over it. We are back to living our lives normally instead of isolating all the time. If you’re worried get a booster

Everyone will RTO after they see jobs go to Mexico, India and Brazil in the next round of cuts.

I for one support DF's initiative to get us all back in the office full-time, or at least close to it. We Ford need to take every step possible to deliver our corporate transformation as fast as possible and with quality. This cannot happen if we are all isolated at home.

See you in Dearborn in January.

I dig WFH but my team hired many people since the pandemic started. Training has not gone well. People have picked up the basics they would be further along if we were in the office, even if only a few days a week. Call it casual learning or Osmosis or whatever. It can't happen over webex.

None of the reasons that employees give for not wanting RTO address why management wants them ITO! And that is control! So yes you will be in Webex at a hoteling desk. Yes you will doing the same thing you would be doing at home. However, just like the company told us we had to WFH during the pandemic, just like the company forces us all to get the experimental shot, just like the company insisted that you report your COVID status and vaccination status, RTO is about control!

So if you don't want to be controlled, tell them where to stick it. You'll probably get fired but that is better than being controlled, right?

It does not make sense when we can do the same thing at our homes. Half of my team is in other states. How is this fair. I would love to know the reasoning....Also there are no walls on the cubicles anymore
