If that were true you'd see more band 5 and up let go. Hasn't happened through all of the RIFs I've ever seen.
Anyone that is not coming in as asked is out. Anyone on an island is out. Anyone born in. Day ending in Y is out. Anyone with the wrong political affiliation is out.
I’m sure that leadership will look at their teams and who they can survive WITH and this people are going to stay regardless did compensation. No sense in keeping a crew around that can’t get the job done even if they make less.. ask yourself- as a boss why would you choose underperforming employees to keep around, it’s going to be bad for them and yourself and then you’d be next on the RIF list
