Verizon is going to cut jobs because the new ceo wants a “leaner company”. They have already offered a package to some in Potomac region. It’s posted on my local unions website. I think they have to put in for it before December 12th, if they are interested. I talked to someone who was offered the package. This person was notified by company email, about a month ago, and was told to expect the package in mail. Because of the timing it was in the works before Dan took over. I do expect, if Dan means it when he say “leaner”, more will come next year.
