Thread regarding Optum layoffs

In Illinois are they required to give you notice?

In the state of Illinois are they required to give you a certain amount of time of notice prior to being laid off? Those who are in Illinois have you been getting notice, or just laid off immediately with severance?

Standard is 2 week notice, no matter what state you are in. They may have you work during that 2 week period or have you stop work immediately.

I am in IL and I was impacted in May. I was verbally told “effective immediately” but in reality my severance letter said my separation date was 2 weeks from being verbally told. So I would consider that notice.

In IL, by law you should get your accrued vacation time paid out. Optum only wanted to pay 40 hrs but by IL law, had to pay the 80+ hours I had. Make sure to check what you have accrued and what you get paid out.
