Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

When will we find out about new connect week schedules? Do you think they will change or Fidelity feels pressure from other companies fully in?

Who really cares what other companies are doing? I can't even hear myself think in the office. Some people are shouting on calls and they don't even realize it. 2 days/month in office would be ideal. But it's all about the tax write off of having bodies in seats.

There’s a bizarre lack of long term messaging around WFH. They clearly know people don’t like to connect week format and not having permanent seats, yet they seem to be doing nothing about it. I feel like connect weeks somehow morphed from a 6 month plan to a 5 year plan with no end in sight. Are we really going to be doing this years from now?

Come work at Fidelity where you will never have a desk and zero flexibility in your schedule!!

Commonwealth Pier is supposed to open in Boston next summer, but the rumor is there are less seats than 245 Summer, so maybe connect weeks are reduced in Boston to fit everyone.

They literally cannot fit us all in now. Major parking and seating issues across many sites. Just use your head vs rumors.

Where are they going to put everyone? I can't imagine them making any changes. Can't even find a quiet place to have a 1:1. Rooms are all taken.

You'll get a ton of different perspectives and water cooler answers. I heard no change. It's anybody's guess honestly.

Expected from March next year, because of market pressure from other companies
