Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Maybe it's too late now

Although Intel is going from failure to failure, I know that the leadership is not interested in our opinion that many things need to be changed in this company.
On the other hand, I am no longer sure whether it is even possible to stop the downfall? I wish it wasn't too late, but...

Intel makes the best x86 PC

All dinosaurs some extinct and others nearly so.

What can be the worst for the company are a fanatical leader who believes his old business model still is competitive. IDM and IFS baby!

Yikes... Intel revenue, gross margin and income are all dropping like a rock. You won't be so excited about the dividend when the stock price is down another 50% by 2024.

For a while Intel is an income company when it comes to investing. Because of its dividends, there may be recommendations for it. As for growth, it has been sluggish for a long time. But it remains to be seen how much the company can dole out in dividends over time. Intel is crushed by the competition and is weighing under its belt and is not nimble enough to compete or come out with successful products in a timely manner. Complacency and bravado at all levels has brought it to where it is. The "leaders" have failed without vision and repeated the x86 mantra. Every other competitor has moved on and doing admirably.

The problem with saying Intel makes the best commercial processors is that Intel is losing business in mobile application and server to ARM. The desktop business is low margin business that Intel cannot survive on. Meanwhile each new process nodes becomes more and more expensive in term of the equipment required.

So, the problem here is much much more serious than anything in the past. Bigger firms are now building their own ARM processors (e.g. Apple and it is better then Intel). There is also Ampere a startup doing many core ARM for data center. Intel is losing out to the more nimble and power efficient parts. This is disruption and a major shift compared to the past monopoly Intel had.

This is the twilight and the future is looking rather dark. 'The moonshot' as the CEO calls will probably be the last chance. Even then, ARM isn't going way.

AMD and Apple don’t exist in your world?
AMD and Intel are basically tied right now in desktop and Apple is way ahead on power efficient computing which is what consumers actually want in a laptop.

Keep drinking the Intel kookaid though.
Qualcomm is coming for you in the next couple of years.

Intel makes the best commercial processors for consumer use cases. Period. The fastest client processors belong to Intel, and servers are not far behind. This has happened before, and it is happening again now. There is a reason that Motley Fool just told people to buy Intel hand over fist. Of course, you are just bitter because you were layed off in ACT and you still haven't gotten over it.
