How gullible is everyone. AI is not yet close to replacing all the job layoffs that everyone is talking about. AI is being used as a great propaganda line for companies to get rid of workers and lean down their work force. We are in a recession and nobody wants to admit it.

We are not in a recession. Not even remotely close to one. But with the stuoud AI stocks every company thinks they can be more appealing by firing everyone
@bw the biggest challenge is the shaky foundation of platforms and the data underpinning the Agentic AI solutions. It's garbage in, catastrophe out, and Verizon has done a poor job of building principled and scalable platforms. Instead, it has rushed everything without any clear prioritization, and so it's a bumbled mess of bad data and platforms that are only just not falling down - which is a fair comparison for "engineering" I guess.
@bq again. Incorrect. We have already released AI in our product. Now we are working through how to make it better.
Again, writing on the wall. It's not propaganda, it's real and it's being developed quickly into production applications.

This is one of many articles popping up that say that AI firings are all a ruse. AI is not yet up to snuff. It may be able to help people do their jobs better, but it cannot yet replace them.
@bj The point is it is not yet replacing all those jobs. AI is still in the deployment phase. Layoffs are now. Nobody is saying it doesn't have a big presence in the future, but it is not even close to full deployment. You are why the propaganda is doing so well!
Actually. Youre false.
I work in the field and I can see the writing on the wall. In Verizon, do I think it can replace most IT jobs, yet? No. Some? 100%. In fiance, or reporting, or other fields where people do spread sheets and write reports? 150% ai can replace those jobs.
Ai is not just amazing for those things, but I invite you to read a lot more indept of how Amazon is using it. Ai could replace call center reps in a few years with our ivr system.
If ai is given the data of a customer, and is instructed how to respond with that data, we don't need retail reps to troubleshoot a device. I can go on and on and on.
absolutely true, if anything offshoring is the bigger threat. ai is just a scapegoat.
