So what's with macys Ap following customers into the bathroom opening up all the stall doors as the customer goes to the bathroom then talks on the walkie that everything is clear... i just witness this... is this a new protocol?

They could also be looking for merchandise or empty hangers customers leave them in the bathrooms all the time
WOW you have AP. This company just lets my store be shoplifted by third world filth everyday and doesn't care. I don't even bother anymore. I open the door for them sometimes. We can't call the police and the Paul Blarts in the mall aren't allowed to be contacted unless management says so. This company is a joke.

@OP I have never witnessed or heard of this, but my wild guess is that they're making sure the restrooms aren't being used for purposes other than what they were intended for.
