Thread regarding Optum layoffs

NP laid off effective immediately, no notice prior to being let go?

I work on the clinical team where a nurse practitioner is laid off with no notice. Not sure about severance, I'm sure they got it. But why are they getting no notice prior. Most other workers seem to get 30 days or 90 days notice. This is in the Midwest. It was less then 50 people for 1 location

Because they don’t care. Announcing to the world that they are laying off the staff just means to the general public that they are unstable. So they have found a loop hole around the WARN act. It’s the same old business different day. They just don’t know how to change their tactics. They keep trying to bolster up their shares but it keeps falling. They will sell more businesses, again in hope of getting that influx of cash, they are now going to get rid of their contracted physicians and try to hire them instead. That won’t work. Nothing worse than a depressed doctor.
