… during this time? Weird looks from HR, snarky comment from your boss, IT folks wandering around counting docking stations and monitors?

IT Site Support is in the process of outsourcing most of what they themselves do, part of that transition to a managed provider probably entails taking inventory.
Can say with absolute certainty no one gave a list of chosen names to IT worker bees.
@ce my question as well it seemed like they were only checking certain peoples stuff, but I would like to hear the answer if it was a list of the folks being let go
@cd - appreciate the info.
The other day were you checking everyone’s devices (ie docking stations) or just some people’s? Were you assigned specific names of users to check?
I am from IT.
Everyone involved in the week of Nov 10 has been told to be ready.
IT, HR, Payroll, Travel, Finance (corp cards), operations and more
Each group has a list of things they will require to be completed for severance to be paid. For IT, it includes making sure all equipment is returned which is more than just your laptop and phone. If you are not sure, look up all of the equipment assigned to you (monitors, docking stations, mice, USB sticks, loaner devices, old phones, hotspots and more). If you are not taking them home then make sure you leave them in a place that is easy to find so you cannot say you did not return them.
All of the other groups have checklists as well.
Anyone from IT or HR willing to share info?
I wonder what those IT guys were doing? Inventory to make things easier to remove after next week? Making sure things don’t get stolen?
Goodbye to your work wife/husband. I guess you’ll have to take your interoffice fling outside of the office. Wink wink.
@c6 what about the women? We also need to ensure we are compliant
They are doing a big project now to ensure that the ratio of computer docks to the number of stalls in the men’s room is compliant with Federal regulations.
@bw yeah very strange. Which group are you seeing them walk around and inventory? I am seeing them do this in Canada
@OP in all seriousness what is with the IT folks all of a sudden walking around doing inventory of the docking stations and monitors. It also seems like it’s only certain desks they are looking at. “Don’t mind me just doing a routine inventory count” nothing to see here.
I couldn’t badge into SP1 and thought my time was up!
