Cut Costs by Cutting Out Wasted Time

I am not talking about AI here.

  1. Stop with all the daily emails and invites to countless town halls from VP to SVP levels and above. We don’t need Up 2 Speed Videos. Give me the daily Newsletter with more details about the whole company.
  2. Stop letting HR change their platforms and Learning / UpSkilling strategy. A company should invest in their employees, but have a single strategy of what is available, clear pathways and keep it perm long enough for Employees to partake. The “Leadership” program was the biggest waste of my time, taking me away from projects to listen to Hosts / Instructors who never achieved anything of significance at Vz.
  3. Have one IT Dept. we have had such a brain drain that most applications and enhancements now live in a black box no one knows how to fix when it breaks. Hire perm Project Managers, real PMO professionals who can guide our big projects over the line, and do so in a single platform instead of every PM deciding how they want to Run / Communicate or Document projects.

Stop with the dozens of email each day from various groups that never get read. End the communications train of BS that sends out items to justify their jobs.

Customers want 2 things now adays, a free phone and a cheap rate. There is NO loyalty between carriers anymore. Verizon loyalty is a thing of the past due to Verizon having a superior network. Times have changed. Customers will flip on a dime for a free phone or cheaper bill, period.

  1. We would need to hear more from leaders. One hour in a month not going to break anything. Who has the time to read daily long emails.
  2. Leadership program is a scam. No one really cares if you have graduated from there or not. You need connects to move up the ladder
  3. PMO is a joke in this company. Every person who could not achieve anything useful gets converted to be PMO.

What we should instead:

  1. Hire really really good Product people. Current product leaders are joke. They do not know how to build or market their products.
  2. Need really great people at the topi to steer the ship in the right direction. Right now Verizon is drifting aimlessly in all directions
  3. Go for AI full throttle. Drop the loser Gemini .. go for grok or ChatGPT to power our AI solutions.
