Let’s stop acting like these leaders and TGT actuallly cares. Amazon is supposed to be more brutal and not give a 💩 yet they took care of their employees.

This is comparing apples to oranges. Target Corp is all retail. Amazon corp is retail, AWS, Prime Video, and the list goes on. Significantly larger.
Of course Amazon is giving better severance. They’re a bigger company!!
Amazon pays mostly in RSUs with a steep cliff, so if you get laid off, you’re losing a TON of promised income (likely hundreds of thousands of dollars for an engineer). Target doesn’t play those games.
@a9 You don't get to cherry pick. You chose to compare a company that's done massive layoffs of tens of thousands of people to one that's done 815, but then only choose one aspect of that and claim "It's so unfair!!!". Those Amazon layoffs were also corporate ones.
No employer is required to give severance. Not even a single day. The only reason they do it is to entice you to sign a statement saying you won't sue, won't disclose private information, etc, etc.
Target employee with a relative at Amazon who was let go. He had option to join another team but took 3 months severance pay.

Amazon also canned 14K people this week, with rumors of an additional 16K in 2026. Target only 815.
Amazon also did about 17K layoffs in 2023 and 10K in 2022.
