Are rumors of more layoffs coming again true?

They are planning a large layoff to take place before end of fiscal year in GT maybe more broadly, but for sure in GT. Pay attention to how leaders are spending their time as a group - when they collectively start having meetings together more frequently than “normal” it means they are planning something big. They all generally hate each other so they aren’t getting together unless forced to do so for a good reason.

We're past the very large (100+ at a time) sweeping layoffs for a few months. That does not mean layoffs will stop. You can expect plenty of team level changes including targeted layoffs on the order of dozens at a time will continue. Also if you're in Europe some of the layoffs triggered a while back still have to get through Works Council approval so that's always the "different timeline" line that they give in the announcements.

Long story short, should we expect another thousand employees to be riff'd before Christmas? Probably not. Should we expect to learn of more people that were laid off through Christmas? Probably yes, but it will be quieter and less broadly communicated.

At this point, ongoing layoffs are standard practice. Expect it and be prepared for it. There's nothing most of us can do about it. Applying to and interviewing for external opportunities on an ongoing basis should be part of every employee's plan. I've been doing it since JD's Xmas surprise a couple of year's ago.
