Hi, When I was searching for Edward Jones review somehow this thread showed up in Google. I had applied for a job and had my interview with the hiring manager. She mentioned something about leadership assessment. Can someone tell me what this is? I have applied for a marketing role not for FA role. I am so confused on why marketing would need leadership assessment role. Also, the number of rounds of interview are ridiculous I have to meet total of 10 people if I pass the leadership assessment for a junior product role. Can someone shed light on the leadership assessment and final rounds of meeting with 3 people per round?

@eg they just laid off a cr-p ton of people in marketing and out ad agency. I was told we were going to be contracting that work. I’m wondering if someone saw their peers getting laid off and then left voluntarily and now they are needing to backfill that role…but I imagine it would be temporary (but they won’t tell you that). I’d run!! Lots of us are actively looking for other roles because this layoff was only “cascade 1” and they’ve already announced more layoffs are coming in 2026 and 2027.
Leadership assessments are for director level and above in the past. It was applied inconsistent as some sr directors didn’t even were required to take it if a GP didn’t require it. I realize that they want to suddenly show appearance of rigor but like most things here it is performative. I would not sit for 10 rounds from these jokers.
I would implore you to read through the treads on this site. I know the job market is tough and every needs to make a living, but if you are a person with other options, I would advise to look elsewhere. I can't envision a scenario where any marketing positions aren't outsourced to an outside marketing firm in the near future.
Honestly, that level of over complication is exactly what you can expect from Edward Jones right now. Ten interviews for a junior marketing role says it all. It’s not about thoroughness, it’s about incompetence. They need a small army of people to make a single hiring decision because no one in the chain has the skill or confidence to assess a resume properly.
This company has turned the simplest processes into endless layers of meetings and “assessments” that don’t mean anything. It’s a joke. If you’re already seeing red flags before you’re even hired, take it as a sign and look elsewhere. You’ll save yourself a lot of frustration.
