@py I'm out-of-the-loop on the 5 state strategy as a former employee - but what I find interesting is the other state scenario, where we are competing with other state Blues and potentially taking business away from our commercial network partners. As a consumer, I'd trust Blue more than I would the purple dancing grocery store people - so I would think we'd still be offering Blue in our five states, but who knows (I saw someone comment how we're not - but not sure if that's truly the case). Sorry not "we"..."they" :( #RIPhcscretirement
@pr Are the two brands offering the exact same benefits (in direct competition with one another), or does one offer something the other doesn't?
Which company is the favorite to win?
Is it their BCBS brand or their new baby Healthspring?
I think we should all put “ please clap “ or “ that’s worth a clap” in our reviews.
@OP Maurice and other senior leaders were lucky to join an org that supported their careeer goals and ambitions. If you gave them the HcSC of today they would be nowhere. Not seen or heard. Nowhere.
Stalled long enough that they wouldn't have to answer a softball question from the pre-screened in-person crowd. I don't expect much from these, but this was a new low. Pathetic.
What was up with playing Danger Zone as the intro music? That seemed like the most transparent moment of the entire town hall
@ak one that keeps secrets or doesnt want to be transparent to their members. Cant do that with a public company!
@a7 you missed nothing. Nothing was said
@ba by the company he keeps.
@a3 Sorry, I didn't hear all of the meeting, what gave you the sense it will be a bloodbath before Christmas?
@a5 He can barely enunciate words. Ridiculous.
@as when did he say that?
Lots of words and nothing is said
I didn't get any sense that the layoffs are done. I feel like the really skirted around this topic for this reason
Each town hall gets more apathetic than the previous one. The responses from leaders get more curt and talk as if we don’t understand what’s happening. RIFs happen but what is the plan to build up and maintain the talent that’s still here? Pushing myLearning, a site that’s predominantly used for compliance training, performance as employees looking to better themselves is insane behavior. I thought I was having an aneurysm when the term “discreet organization” was being used. I get you may not wanting to specify but they really think we are stupid. My expectations were low but… it’s never been this bad.
@b0 don't forget Tennessee, it's 6 states! LOL
@at they think that their employees are d-mb and if they use the word ‘competitive’ then they will think they actually are competitive instead of what they are- unethical and a contradiction of the company’s core values.
Odd to see all these posts with very little negative +/- reaction.
Please clap is going to be my new catch phrase.
@ay they never actually address employees questions- they address the topic related to it in regards to what they want to address
How convenient for Maurice that the reduction in workforce topic was near the end of the agenda
Isn't he so inspiring?
National presence with new employees limited to 5 states? Ok...
@aw 100% percent
asked us to submit questions but none were answered directly….
Add balance to the buzz words.
Yet my check book is clearly not as balanced as the 40 million dollar man.
They must have told this lady to stall. She is running out the clock
You just know the people in Texas, OK and Montana are fuming that they are spending time on this.
This answer on PTO is such bullsh-t. Many national companies have a single policy on PTO (like Cigna) that is applied to everyone. State laws are minimum requirements.
@a5 he’s simply terrible- yet he wants to be in politics?
Inside guy???? Huh?
How much glazing will there be in these questions?
Maurice how do you maintain such a beautiful smile?
Maurice, how do you get your boots to taste so good?
@am it’s just that I would respect them more if they just said that, rather than disguise it in language that is meant to trick us into feel good about “our mission”
I think Jill just had a Freudian Slip and said "Apathetic Conversations" instead of "Empathetic Conversations". Wow.
@ag - The goal of this company is maximize bonuses for executives. That's it.
What is a discreet organization???
Expand access = make more money
We are forced to access my learning. Why would you cite the unique visitors as some noteworthy achievement? These people think we're id--ts? At this point I think they're just doing it on purpose to flex on us. What a joke.
It’s just so icky when you realize that everything they say means the same thing:
Add value = make money
Fulfill our promise to our members = make money
Scale= make more money
Efficiency = cut costs
Affordability = cut costs
Margin = cut costs and make more money
Capture growth = make money
Opportunity = where we can make more money
Adding employees while we RIF employees?
My learning??? This is a positive?
