Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Started lexapro until new role available

I’m trying to quit but can’t find anything and have kids to feed. I’ve been applying daily but the anxiety and depression from work daily is ki-ling my drive. I literally got divorced year 3 working here because it was affecting our romance and I turned quite mean to my spouse just being accountable. I’ve lost everything to this job. Please share tips on how to apply if anyone got lucky enough to leave. I cry in the bathroom weekly. This is no way to live, survival mode.

Please get help for yourself and find someone to talk to. Venting can feel good, but this board isn’t a safe or healthy space.

And some of us "let" this happen because we have homes, and children, and spouses. And pets, and cars, and...

Ya'know things that require money to maintain. The job market is so thrashed right now that it's exceptionally difficult for many to get out. So people stay, and get abused for it. Bit provide for their loved ones, keep their insurance and hold on to hope they can find an exit before it's too late.

@m8 some of us have terrible management. They make our lives miserable and it leaks in to our personal lives. We don't "let" this happen out of choice but management here su-ks and I didn't realize it until I joined this company how notoriously known that is.

Why did you let it impact your life that much? It’s just a job FFS.

@OP sadly you can count yourself lucky that all you've gotten so far is a divorce. I know of, or know several people that nearly lost their lives to this job, and I knew a couple people who did lose their life to this job. Most of those people that are gone have already been forgotten, some even got replaced by new people. Most just had their work piled on to those who remained after their passing.

The best way to survive is to remember your job is just legal prost---tion. Once you accept that its just an exchange of labor for money, start acting like it. Do the standard amount of work at a standard level of completion and go home. Why go above and beyond to deliver when you never get 'above and beyond' in return? If you want to add a few moans here and there go ahead, but don't expect a larger tip at the end of the year.

The lack of material or standardization is an ongoing problem and under the old regime anyone who brought it up was swatted down because it was proposing an initiative that took away from immediate revenue generation - even thought in the long-term it would deliver.

Unpopular opinion here... but it's only gotten and will get worse under the new strategy of "just sell more products" and if it's not a client-facing or client-supporting asset or activity, we're not doing it - which isn't much of a strategy

All of the training materials and standards were written down and are available. Ask the experienced employees, (who left), and they would tell you were to find it - if they were still here.

it should be in 'work day' - somewhere.

I don’t think I’ve ever worked at a place that has virtually no training or standards for anything. When I ask what the standards are, total silence LOL.
