@kv they must not want to get me then as they haven't for over 20 years.
When you come to the office people will use the network so they can track you. If you are at home, you come in through the VPN, so they can track you there too. They've been doing this for years. If they want to get you, they will get you.
@fn Quite literally, ANYBODY at Dell can request a company phone. Whether or not it is approved is a different story but, anyone CAN request to have a company phone.
Our personal phones do have GPS on them, yes.. However it's not legal for a company to track your PERSONAL phone, anywhere or for any reason unless they've gone through the courts and legal reasonings as to why they need to track 100k peoples personal phones.. it's literally not something they can do lmfao.
Company phones? Yeah, they probably do track those since they are company owned and don't need a legal reason to do so... My company phone is owned and registered to Dell and the service is through ATT and well, Dell is the account holder for all the company phones so yeah, they likely DO track those. Who cares though?
I 100% promise that dell won't spend the money to buy software or people to manage "who's where, when they are there, and for how long" lol. Dell is way too cheap for that nonsense.
They can already see you when you are logged in at the office. You have GPS in your phone.
99% of do not have company issued phones so this isn't factual

I mean... that's gonna be pretty tricky because most people are not required to be in office 8 hours a day. a lot of people don't eat lunch at the office either so, if they take their computer to say Chillis and connect to that wifi for an hour, then go back to office, connect back to dell wifi, etc...
That's A LOT of tracking for any company of Dell's size to keep up with.
OR, just use your phones hotspot, or your work phones hotspot and be done with it.
@bx Better yet, just use your work phone and use THEIR data plan lol... My work phone has unlimited everything - international calling, data usage, etc... My work phone is 100% not needed for my job but, i was given one so i took it. i absolutely use it but rarely for work.
just use teams on your phone, always, home or at the office, for every IM and even call. disable the PC one. make yourself seen at the office While it shows your phone, so they will not trust the teams status..
alternatively, If you have an unlimited data plan on your phone, connect your laptop Wi-Fi to your phone (at the office) and then just use VPN, same result and with this one you can actually take teams calls from your PC.
Lol the lowest performers on my team are the ones in the office. Pretty sure my team us not unique in that regard.
@at Brilliant!
One turn it off, but two...why are you on your system in the office? You are there for in person collaboration. I leave my system at home when I'm in the office. If it can't be done in person, it can be done at home.
That option has been there. You can turn it off.
About time the slackers get what's coming to them! Should've RTO'd when first mentioned! Get 'em JC!
I’m sure it’ll be an expensive paid extra and Dell is too cheap for that.
@a1 how does that leather taste buddy?
yay, about time people will be held accountable.
