Do any of you have managers and teams based in other regions? My team is in Costa Rica, while I’m in the US and I'm struggling with feeling included by my manager. What have your cross-regional team experiences been like, particularly regarding communication and inclusion?

Cross region teams are hard. Both parties need to stay in constant communication. Share culture, explain holiday ‘norms’, explain business culture expectations etc.
Managers are told nothing. Just here - this person in X Country now reports to you. That’s it. The rest we have to roll up our sleeves and figure out.
It needs to be a continuous conversation. But if both parties don’t put in effort it is very hard.
So lots and lots of patience and understanding is key. Or dissociate and get paid.
