Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Truist replaced years of experience with bargain hires

Costs went down, but so did quality. Now we spend twice as long fixing mistakes that never used to happen. Figure that.

All this whining and continued belief how good you all are now and in the past (you weren’t)….. no wonder Truist started and continues to offshore.

@ax and don’t forget all of those good bankers that left for competitors continue to tell the unflattering truth of how inept Truist is, which as we all know word of mouth publicity (good or bad) is worth more than all the professional ad campaigns.

@ar - Offshoring jobs to India has come at a significant cost to Truist's clients. Many of the software developers brought on board struggle to understand the fundamentals of delivering an optimal client experience on our client-facing platforms. There is a noticeable deficiency in essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The absence of strong, capable software engineers directly impacts the quality of our services, and ultimately, it is our clients who bear the consequences.

Don't forget about job placement based on DEI instead of qualifications.

The amount of great bankers that have fled this company over the last 6 years is astonishing. Our market reputation is tarnished and unfixable now because all of our trusted, experienced bankers all left to go work elsewhere. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.

Quality and accountability lacking. The persistent issue of underperformance in mid and upper management is contributing to a culture of complacency within our organization. Rather than addressing the root of the problem they reshuffle underperformers and present these moves as "better alignment" or strategic repositioning.
