Since our raises were put on hold, it would seem logical that hiring would be put on pause too?

Yep! Imagine change . U guys are sc--wed. Just admit it.
@OP They won’t stop hiring but count on them to target and terminate tenured employees at an increasing rate. It’s the Ricoh Way.
