Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Is the current severance enough, considering the state of the job market?

I know people who were laid off from other companies more than six months ago who are still looking for a job. Is the money that will be given to laid off employees really going to be enough to cover such long periods of unemployment? And on that note, does anybody know if you can get unemployment along with severance?

@OP Unemployment won’t kick in until your severance weeks are up. That said, apply immediately because they have a trove of resources to take advantage of. You can even get certified in a lot of areas. I’m working on taking advantage of that as I continue to search for jobs.

@OP i was laid off in June ans receive severance. You will not be able to receive unemployment until your severance runs out in MN.
