I know people are getting new security badges. People are telling me these are being used to track time in-office. Is that correct? Why wouldn't they just track your time connected to the office network?

Is it true that if you are a true professional, put in 40+ hours a week, you are personally responsible for a profitable revenue stream, you rarely call in sick, and you ate a true pleasure to work with that you don’t need to worry about the number of times you swipe your badge per month?
Uhhh… Yeahhhhh!!!!
Get with the program and you won’t be so worried.
Re Post ID: @f1+1k81ebqj7. Huh ?
They're chipping the linemen ;-)
Bigger question is who’s tracking security
It’s facial recognition dum dum. Badges are a thing of the past.
Its just the new branding thats all...
They can already track everything anyways.
Put it this way. "Can they check", YES! Of course this information can be tracked. Are they looking is a separate question. If you're giving them a reason to check...then they will and can. If your not...don't worry about it.
why even ask if they are monitoring or not? this mean to me that you are guilty of something. just do what the company ask you - be in the office 3x per week. if you are doing it, then i dont think you’ll ask rhe question. my unsolicited opinion.
They are tracking 12 days in month per employee based on badge swipes. Old badges or new ones. That’s why they make you swipe your badge at every location. Even if door is opened from someone in front of you. You still need to scan your badges.
They do badge refreshes every decade or so or when new branding comes. It’s not that extensive. There’s no one in the company that’s going to track everyone’s badge swipes and how will they enforce that.
@a1
ummm...what "work" is actually being done? All I've been seeing the last few years since relocating to BR is azzzzkissing but that is because I'm in marketing. Maybe other areas of the company are different.
Really?
They can simply track your time by virtue of your badge swiping activity, WiFi/LAN connection and company phone cellular location information as it is today.
Yup
@a1 Imagine tech workers actually working on remote technology.
@a1 they say while on social media
Imagine office workers actually having to do work - in an office
