The team responsible for supporting our diverse applications and tools presents a significant opportunity for organizational optimization. A thorough review indicates that the current structure and performance levels are not aligned with company goals, leading to inefficient resource allocation and reduced overall productivity. This issue is present across both full-time employees (FTEs) and contractors.
@kc Very true. But sometimes you are just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Everyone is replaceable. It always best to do the best you can. That way you keep tour skills up, and are best prepared if you need to get another job.
There are layoffs every month. Just small enough so they are not really visible, unless you know someone who got laid off. The clip level is about 100-200 per month. About as many get hired. So the result is net zero.
Amazon done with they yearly ritual of sacrifice
How do you know? We need to know your source with a statement like that!
2 Years back they did in Nov , , how long is a possibility now.
@kc Rick can tune out the noise because if he lost his job, he’d walk away with millions.
The rest of us don’t have that safety net. Executives like him love to say “focus on clients, not yourselves,” but their real focus is shareholder value because THEY are the shareholders. They’re not worried about protecting jobs, they’re protecting their portfolios.
Telling people who actually need their paychecks to stop worrying about their livelihoods is not just easy when you’re already rich and getting richer but is also very insulting.
@kc 100%.
I remember a couple of years ago when Walt broke the news that reductions would be necessary. Shortly after he turned things over to Rick who gave perhaps the wisest advice I ever heard. He said "tune out the noise, put your head down, and focus on what you can do for our clients." I did exactly that and I'm still here. Those of you worried about being laid off should do the same. It's amazing how productive you become when your focus is on our clients instead of on yourselves. Productive people are seldom let go. There really is a correlation there.
No they are not. If you know this, then you’d share more info. Most cost targets are known and being worked without impacts. So, stop with the BS posting.
So no Q4 layoffs? Or just the next round?
How do you know?
Just like it is for most corporations in USA. Thanks to TACO.
