Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

You can feel how toxic MetLife has gotten

Things are so bad that people who used to care now just do the bare minimum to get through the day. And management is somehow shocked that productivity is dropping. Who would have thought that a toxic work environment goes hand in hand with mentally exhausted employees who barely give a damn.

Got out over 9 years ago or so. It turned into one of the most toxic places I ever worked. Everything is political. Started off awesome, once Cary opened it was over. Oh the stories I could tell from working there so long.

@1qg They're supervisors, no more, no less. No different than the shift supervisor at a fast food joint. They should be shamed for daring to ask to be called "leaders". Please call me 'Your highness' is only slightly less insulting.

@1hw I have better names for them but was trying to say it without swearing. What should I call them? They cannot manage so managers is out. I’m like many others just doing the minimum while collecting the check until they lead me to the door.

@1m8 a colleague mentioned this exact thing in recent a feedback request and was told this might not be the right place for them! Gotta really love this 💩 show place. Yeah, keep prioritizing 🐂💩 you 🤡🤡🤡. All nonsense buzzwords that they paid a pretty penny for.

"Prioritize for Impact"

I'll believe that when I see them fire the leadership that causes the issues to begin with.

@19j "Lose complete faith we can correct it when leadership in RRi changed."

Calling them "leaders" because they told you to reveals your sheep nature.

Met was never a great place to work but thought I would make it to retirement. The wheels came off the cart many years ago but thought I could ride out the storm until they came to their senses. Lose complete faith we can correct it when leadership in RRi changed. BF cared and wanted to keep jobs in the state, he knew we did the job better. The new guys are bending the knee to offshore and giving them pay way higher than they deserve.

Look up quiet cracking. Sums up what they’ve created. I tried to bring it to my managers attention in hopes it would help. She didn’t read it. Told me I have no future at the company,, blamed me for our teams low retro scores then my position was eliminated. lol

It’s blowing up on them as I had a very unique and limited skill set, they have 4 people trying and failing to do my job, all off shore, now they are hiring an onshore person too at a higher scale than I was. lol they will also fail as there’s no one left to train these people but leaders have no idea what the employees who actually do work even do. And no interest pin finding out. Burn Met Burn. lol
