Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

CEO says not everybody gets full bonus

He thanks everyone for an incredible year and all the hard work.

He also says not everyone will receive their full, earned bonus. Some will; others will receive less.

Let me put this plainly, Mr Chief Executive: if employees receive anything under 100% of their earned bonuses, we will lose critical talent with irreplaceable institutional knowledge—losses compounded by past redundancies. They’ll vote with their feet.

Others may stay on, but if they’re paid only 60% of their bonus, expect about 60% effort going forward. Think very carefully about the next move, PD. Can Avaya really afford to lose more legacy talent? Won’t that hobble the plans you and the Board have—plans that reward specific leaders with bonuses tied to a single target?

Think. Very. Carefully.

Imagine being surprised you are not getting a bonus? The company lays off every other week! You have no work and the company is in the toilet.

@kn Its sad but most of the people in these positions did not get there by being honest and doing the right thing. They then continue taking as much as they can for themselves knowing they can simply wait out any outcry until it fades away without any repercussions.

For reference, Nortel executives paid themselves a "retention bonus" while winding up the company in Chapter 11. Many executives are familiar with the feeling of shame.

The only people who should NOT receive any bonus are the Cs receiving bloated salaries while the company continues to spiral down. Accepting or expecting a bonus after continuing to eliminate jobs and shrink the corporation because you can't seem to figure it out is beyond ridiculous.

But, they all know their performance or lack thereof is of no importance. They'll pop their golden parachutes when the time comes and land softly and safely in another job and fat salary.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse at Avaya, the 'management' take institutional cluelessness to a new level. Nearly at the bottom of the doom spiral now.
