It’s been a literal bloodbath, with little to no official information, and people are reporting layoffs basically everywhere. The US seems to have been hit especially hard. This tells me we’ve been in worse shape than anyone thought, and that this round is just the beginning of more chaos. If the rumored numbers are true, there’s no coming back from this to anything even remotely resembling BD as we knew it.

@OP those of us that were laid off last year were keenly aware then how bad it was. they laid off a massive amount of field service engineers after Pyxis become class 1 med devices and wonder why everything got worse with the Golden Child product
@qz I don't think leadership is advertising anything online, we're all in the dark. I did get a RIF / WARN (whatever you want to call it) letter at BDTI in NC last week myself, along with at least 50 of my colleagues.
@jk I don't see anything on the NC website from BD. Where are you seeing this?
@OP Its everywhere - I was affected as well as many people I have worked with long term. The company is spiraling, rudderless and over extended. RIF at this stage with all the initiatives going on is sui-idal. More will be coming this week as I understand it and I also have it on good authority that another major restructuring will occur after the spin of Biosciences and Diagnostics. They do this to appease Wall Street - but the affect will be to limit their successful implementation of some of these major projects. They may finish - but there will be massive problems post production. BS about AI won't save them either - you can't get intelligence from cr-p data. Leave on your own if able or wait for the severance with a plan for where you will land after.
@ap I think a lot of folks at the RTP, NC facility were issued WARN letters.
@fn and they are not even removing incompetent employees. BD TGS is very hard and frustrating to work with. “Leaders” have zero clue about the subjects they talk about. Recently one such leader was talking about AI adoption, almost everyone felt he was throwing jargons to look smart assuming no one understands 😝 .
@OP Yeah the last we heard, the office of the CEO has not been affected....
BD is literally spiraling. When your ONLY strategies are layoffs, outsourcing and offshoring, it's just a matter of time before we bottom out - before we completely come undone. I think that day might not be that far out, unfortunately...
Bloodbath is an understatement! So many US folks let go over the past few days - sad!
@ap Not that I've seen officially but can confirm FLKS marketing and communication teams were hit. My guess is it will be a few days minimum before warn notices are reported as BD will want to control the communication as much as possible. If they're not done yet, it could be weeks. All BD has to do is put the "official" layoff date 60 days out from notice and pay those laid off for that time as if employed.
Have there been any official announcements about this? Surprised they didn't issue a WARN notice about this, if it's layoffs of mass scale..? Trying to get an idea if this round of layoffs was in the hundreds or thousands
Nothing at the manufacturing plant level
I have heard it's across all functions!
I work in a business unit in a non sales function and have heard nothing about layoffs. Think overpaid sales folks are the ones mostly affected
Any news on MMS?
BDB and Diagnostics supposedly safe for now but hey they are kicking us out to another company
