@OP No it’s not, because it’s a massive tax-dodge.
The U.S. tax code is designed to let corporations game the system. We should stop acting surprised.
If you’d like to see this change, consider adjusting your voting patterns.
Is there a way to give zero in the new system while still “participating” like last year?
@OP donate your money to all volunteer organizations, then you know 100% of your donation actually helps people. What is the United Way CEO salary?
Keep the cheddar for yourself!
This used to be really bad in Clinton
Made cl33 by donating $5k a year to UW and $2k a year to xom PAC. Easiest way to exec than kissing x-x or suxxxxg dxxx
Once upon a time, I was on a volley fire department, which one of the captain’s wives is a big wig for UW. Herself and a couple of others came to one of our safety meetings one time and gave the spill of the UW’s “intentions and how good they do for the local communities” and so on. Long story short, a few months after UW’s and EM’s circlej--kshe and the volunteer firefighter I was peers with miraculously moved into a brand new house, coming from nothing more than a pot to pi-s in…coincidence, I think not.
@a2 Lol. I like your strategy. Give a fraction of what they give you. Lol. But seriously help someone struggling on your own and directly without funding the salary of UW CEO and exec and making XOM to wigs claim the victory of your funds and donations.
Yea, the company forces you (without saying they are forcing) silently to donate, only to push you on the other side where you become beneficiary of your own donations. XOM + UW combo is the most corrupted partnership in my opinion. Choose your own charities or help someone need help and support directly. Not to a fund that allows top exec to claim victory say they helped raise x-x.
The company cannot force you to donate.
Tell them you would rather donate to animal shelters.
I typically give them 10 percent of my last raise, which hasnt been much since 2020. What are they asking for? I thought gifting was optional.
