@4af Fighting what? You made no sense.

@48b severance allows up to 45 days to request payment. Certain states have specific rules.

Anyone file unemployment? Curious if they are actively fighting it .

Worst company my friend worked for. He tells me all the time about how financial decisions made by upper management are garbage. They constantly have problems with the way things are made. Customers are absolutely not going to be happy about this and this will make Trane get sold to another company, again.

@47v That makes no sense. You have obviously never worked in a corporate environment or any area that is structured like this. A company has balance sheets that are public and are able to be looked at, especially to us as employees. They are more than likely going to do another round of layoffs, this week or at the beginning of December. They're not going to let severance packages go through next year into Q1 and this is especially with all the stu pid people that started rattling off how they can't work remotely while Dave Ragnery was talking. I mean come on man.

@32x They literally have all the resources in the world. Literally no one cares about what's going on there. They can get a job and these people are living off a US salary where it costs almost nothing to live. Please....American workers are what matter here.

@1gs What do you mean they can call the labor department? Everyone is at will. You made absolutely no sense whatsoever. This also isn't a government job that you get back pay for at all.

Lmao, what executive flunky is going around downvoting all comments critical of the company’s leadership? Can’t handle the truth?

This company is little more than a creative finance company masquerading as an HVAC manufacturer. There are absolutely good people at the plants and some in corporate too, but upper management is clueless and detached and completely happy to ruin the livelihood of everyone else as long as they can keep giving themselves huge bonuses. They don’t have the talent to meet the current backlog, and decision makers are too stupid to automate their way out of it. Despite their posturing, outlook is bleak. Once the AI bubble pops all the fake data center orders disappear and the execs will one again blame everyone but themselves

@33s My guess is that Q4 is going to be a nightmare. They needed to cut now, to let severance hit - and blame some of the Q4 margins on that. Stock likely will go up when they talk about the operational expense they've reduced.

@OP this companies reputation will absolutely never recover from the way they've handled these layoffs, only to turn around and brag on their earnings call. Their mo--nic RTO will cull all the real talent only to be left with brown nosing yes man who will make do with skeleton teams with a smile on their face.

@2yy Somewhat similar feeling. As much as I loved working here, felt the mission was true, this has somewhat changed my opinion.

I was laid off 10/30. I asked if I could collect my personal items from my desk and they said no. Someone will ship them to me in the coming days. I asked if we could set up a meeting after business hours (less people to see what's happening) so I could collect my items. They said no.

The disrespectful treatment and lack of dignity. As if we stole from them and have to leave asap. No explanation either. I can never look at this company in a positive light again.

@OP Everyone get severance? I think this layoff is near 1,000 people. It's odd timing with the EPS reported and operating income being up.

Reducing staff isnt going to help meet that revenue target that you missed.

I was laid off today after 3.5 years a TRANE Technologies sales and service office in Rocklin.
No thank you for your time or appreciate everything you’ve done for us. After working countless overtime because we were understaffed, or spending my own money to raise the spirits of my coworkers because we had sh---y leadership.
Happy to be gone, it was the push I needed because I would not have left on my own.

@26h the WARN act only comes into play if it’s 500 employees at a single site (or if it’s 33+% of the workforce at a single site). Afaik the layoffs were pretty spread throughout the country. Idk how remote teams handle “single site” though

I’ve been seeing LinkedIn posts rolling out every day… has there been additional layoffs since 10/14? I completely understand if people took a moment before posting but I definitely want to know if there’s been another round(s)… my managers haven’t told my team anything, they haven’t even mentioned the first round…

These layoffs were all over. The federal team alone lost 10 folks. Pretty convenient that it was a month after the very important internal employee engagement survey. And to those asking if this was legal, that they fired without notice. They're legally allowed to but if it's over 500 layoffs, they do have to give notice. Buckle up, we've got some bumpy roads ahead but as someone said, the culture is going down FAST. Especially with the everyone return to an office mandate.

I was laid off on Tuesday 10/14 as well. I was on the Lcur sales team in the southeast, which our team was ki-ling it overall. I heard others were let go from my team… including management.

This seems conveniently timed with the government shutdown, since you cannot call the department of labor to report a WARN act violation.
Everyone affected should report a WARN act violation.

Once the government opens back up, everyone affected should also call the US Department of Labor: 202-693-3079

Totally sc-mmy the way this layoff went down. No rhyme or reason. Useless weight and high performers caught up. Culture has noticeably declined now that comparable are challenging. Reminder that last quarter Trane spent $1 billion with a B buying back its own stock to juice the stock price to keep their execs stock options fat in the money.

@12f Trane like all corporations has a lot of lawyers and knows how to get around the legality. UnitedHealth Group does this multiple times per year.

It is 10% across the board in Americas. No clue on whether that includes other regions. I heard it's still going and deeper cuts will happen if this quarter performance is poor. Problem is, this is holiday season and that's not hot for sales.

Trane laid off a lot of people company wide and several in the greater southwest region which is Arizona, Texas, and Arkansas. They also are forcing all Inside sales specialists and several other positions to work in office, even though they were hired and are being paid based off remote work. They say it is too boost sales yet inside sales does commercial work. Why would you want commercial people in a residential warehouse? That guy Mark is a complete id--t and he’s the one who made the call apparently.

@q7 Good luck to those of you affected. It stings, but you will be better off. I know people they were trying to push toward PIP's who did not deserve it. Connect with others who were also let go and work together!

@ds I heard anyone on a PIP was an immediate dismissal. Apparently greater than 400 were let go system wide.

@OP Truthwhisperer-You sound like management who was part of the decision. Your generalization is stunning and your sense of "Truth" ludicrous. Your time will come. Layoffs happen to everyone, eventually. I see it over and over. You are not immune. I hope you have a trust fund to support you when it does happen, or a wife you can bring home the bacon! Good luck with your so-called truth!
