Ready to move on

Been sending out job apps nonstop, just trying to get out. Around here, you’re treated like you don’t matter and no one’s accountable for anything. Management keeps talking about performance metrics that make zero sense. The place lost its credibility ages ago.

I had been in similar situation quit for a contract job got peace of mind back and finally landed ft on similar role.

Being there 10 years is the EXACT reason why you should move. Its hard to move but at some point with a promotion and high salary, you will reach the limit and end up on the chopping block which is done every year (despite great earnings). You would be shocked to see the last page of a severance agreement listing the age and title of each person that was let go. The older you are and longer you stay, the more devastating it is when your number comes up. And sorry, you are only a number despite your accomplishments. Move on, re-energize. I was forced to and I can tell you that the grass is definately greener. I had no idea that the revenue I generated and what I built was really meaningless.
