Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Good Bye F5

I liked to say it was a good experience - it wasn't.

I'd liked to say that we helped each other thrive - we didn't

I'd like to say that F5 puts out new and innovative products - they don't

I'd like to say that F5 puts out quality products - it doesn't

I'd like to say that customer issues were resolved - they weren't.

I'd like to say that the customer was treated right - they weren't.

I'd like to say that the executive staff members are leaders - they aren't.

I'd like to say that I will recover from having worked at F5 - I can only hope.

Agreed with the comment below that says all of those things describe what F5 USED to be like. Unfortunately, the company has lost the culture that many of their longtime employees have stuck around for. It's been sad to watch the company's culture deteriorate like this. It is no longer the company it once was, and it looks like it'll never be that again.

It was all those things for many years. Unfortunately, some very unscrupulous people got hold of the company and ruined it.

Not an F5er but you should keep in mind that the large cloud providers were able to lose a lot of money on the path to generating FOMO about cloud processing. There are quite a number of vendors that have been clobbered by the rush of corporates dreaming of smaller pay-as-you-go models, shrunken data centers and support staff. Many of them are just now seeing monster cloud bills instead. It is not all on your management what is happening in the world, but the need for cyber skills is only accelerating. It only hurts you to keep this baggage in your mind. You probably learned a lot there.
