Seems like that’s the plan

There are people who actually can’t do the majority of their work in the office, due to a lack of space and proper equipment. They have the required set ups at home, so when they raised this problem to upper management, they got yelled at and were told no exceptions, 3 days a week.
Their workload has increased to where some of these folks are now working till 2am, once they get home from the office, in order to keep up. I know one person who broke down crying, another who is looking to quit, because they just can’t sustain this. This RTO has been done with little thought on how it will impact peoples ability to effectively do their job. Common sense needs to be applied here, but the ELT seems to be lacking in that.
Apparently they have data that says people were more productive in the office pre-covid. Of course they have never actually shared that data and have never even mentioned it in any town hall. Of course, if this was true, there wouldn't be so many remote employees, including many in the ELT . They would either force people to move to nearer to an office, or they would increase hiring locally, whilst reducing the number of remote employees. It hasn’t happened because it is all BS.
They are making themselves less competitive as an employer in this regard. LNW pays well below market rate, but flexible remote work provides an incentive to job candidates and current employees. Now that incentive is all but gone, it will be interesting to see how this affects turnover.
It's fine, just pay for the extra gas and the unavailable daycare with the extra money you didn't get in your cost of living increase. Then when your productivity is way down you can just ruin your relationships and mental health by working overtime. Because AI or something.
Hopefully, they’re not expecting a positive score on the mandatory GES survey. Their true colors have definitely been revealed.
I guess the plan did not work as intended, because they are now pushing for 4 days a week. MW basically told creators they can quit if they don’t like it. If it is so essential to be in the office 4 days a week, why do we have so many remote employees?
Why aren’t we trying to fill these roles locally?
Too bad they are enforcing it selectively, as there are some offices that only show up 1-2 days a week, when they are supposed to be the in-office 3 days a week currently.
The only managers who want this are the micro-managers, who hate being at home with their kids, but also hate being in the office alone. It certainly has nothing to do with productivity, especially when we have had record breaking quarters, every quarter. They talk about the benefits, but nothing about the downside, like office politics, loss of productivity, micromanagement and just the general dysfunctional, back-stabbing, gossipy office environment we have to deal with.
I love how the executives who are announcing this to the company, are remote employees themselves. They should lead by example and be in the office 3 days a week like everyone else.

Highly frustrating for folk like you, but yes, in order for an adult daycare to function, its members have to attend. But if you’ve lived your life properly and are thus C-suite, project manager or female, it will not be enforced.
