Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

New Job Experience

For 10 months I’ve been working for a new company, here is a summary of my experience.

Managers are nice, especially in snr exec positions, humble too.

DXC is antiquated - the Tech in the real world is far more up to real world standards

The company I work for has proper salaries for employees, £70k for a PM Lead 4 days a week

Better staff benefits package, similar to perks at work but better discount %

Company paid meals

Manager said casually on a day we were going to be on site that we will go for a meal, I have the company credit card. And it’s not Nando’s!

Company paid Xmas meals (menu ordering)

Company paid fitness classes after work and lunch hour

Company paid proper well being session with people on site

Any training request is approved

Free EV charging on site

Barely any town hall meetings

If someone leaves or retires - the whole company gets an email with a thanks

No expectation to work stupid hours

They are genuinely shocked at my strong work ethic, DXC put you in a constant state of fear, and we have to work damn hard to not show on the redundancy radar, they think I work very hard and super productive.

If you’re under 60, you are wasting your years away here. Apply for jobs, and if you get an opportunity don’t look back.

BAE staff rejecting annual over 3% rise, most people in DXC haven’t had 3% in 10 years. Let that sink in.

@18n find a job and leave... You have the skill set. When they come back with a counter it should remind you that the money was there they just didn't want to give it. When I got my counter I just laughed and lost what little respect I had.

@16w I can't get a redundancy. My skillset is needed. They won't give me a pay rise, as I'm not on the market. I didn't get any long service recognition for 20 years loyalty.

I can either take the money or just quit.

This is how DXC treats it's staff.

I promised my wife I would not s**t online about Dixie as they paid me substantial redundancy according to law without trying to avoid it. Since one month ago I have new job and only thing i will say is that I feel like a new man

This company isn’t built to complete, it’s an asset strip, it’s a wind down to the bottom.

Any person in DXC who doesn’t know that is re--rded.

The management come in, get paid to shrink the business, rinse and repeat.

Since Mike Lawrie days tell me what’s changed? Tell me what has improved?

Folks at the very top know the game, notice how Slave-ino was on the board, notice Rahool was on the board….

It’s a rinse and repeat. It’s not about becoming profitable, it never was.

Op The reason you dont get any pay or benefits in DXC is that the top Execs and other Management take your money.

As you have found other companies give better pay, benefits and appreciate the folks. Well done to you.

Until the Execs change their way of distributing the money the people at the bottom will get nothing.

BAE are just playing the game to get rid of DXC. They say they want something, and then do everything possible to prevent you delivering it. We generally don't even bother trying, but obviously say we are for effect.

I'm trying my up most to get on the make me redundant list - but they just won't. But neither will they come forward with a pay rise. The place is toxic. There's so much technical debt, legacy systems, ways of working and thinking. Your better off out than admitting you were involved in any of it.
