@eg Unions can be IMMENSELY powerful and great for employees. Of course that is dependent on the union itself and union representation. Years ago from the NOC side of the house I encountered the telecom installers union for NOC and cell towers and cell sites. A layoff had to be last hired... first out the door in a structured sense. For other examples look at the police unions across the nation and the united auto workers unions.

It weird so many people (employees) think unions are bad. I can tell you, as a manager, unions can be the bane of our existence because from my personal experience the telecom union protects the employees from management.

Yet they can afford numerous celebrities to advertise. I've been with tmobile 15 years and was grandfathered into a 55+ plan. The price was nit supposed to go up as long as I kept that plan. Then celebrities started advertising and all of a sudden.It went up five dollars on one and two dollars on the other or seven dollars a month.

If the OP looks at the date of the story's byline, it's August 15, 2025. We were discussing this back in August when it was announced. What a tool.

Old news. August 12th is when people were notified. They had 60 days to find a new role. October 13th is when it becomes official.

The reason they are forced on western Washington, is because that is a Seattle news station. August 12th layoffs in IT hit all campuses. 10% of IT was let go.

Why just Western Washington, HQ, if we are going digitally all-in? The rest of the country should be affected, too!
