Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Senior Manager layoffs coming Q1

T-Mobile continues the show by creating unnecessary Senior Manager positions only to back track and layoff a handful later on each year. I am honestly surprised T-Mobile employees don’t file a class action for miss leading career promises. Don’t take my word for it, wait for Q1 2026 and comment here! Any Senior Manager or RMM with low amount of stores are in question from what sources are sharing.

Let’s be real,  the Michigan market’s a straight mess right now. toxic senior managers in T-Mobile for Business still sittin’ in their chairs like they untouchable. New management: please No more focus on those blonde-hair “favorites.” They built this whole disaster and now they’re bein’ protected by other so-called leaders who ain’t got one ounce of ethics or morals.

What they did is wild, we lost a ton of good, talented people just ‘cause they wouldn’t kiss hands or play politics. The toxicity’s at an all-time high. These senior managers don’t even know the basics of the telecom business. They ain’t leadin’, they just buildin’ circles of allies, clowns, and “diamond boys” to promote each other like it’s some kind of mango club.

Basically, the folks runnin’ the biggest frauds are the ones gettin’ promoted, while the real performers, the ones actually grindin’ and deliverin’ results get disrespected, humiliated, and pushed out. And let’s be honest, people of color ain’t even welcomed in this setup.

If the new management’s serious, it’s time to clean house. Remove toxic leaders and Bring in real, educated leaders who understand business, have morals, and know how to treat people like humans, not pawns. Once that happens, watch how fast this company flips the script and starts winnin’ again

@1a3 People managers at all level should have 10-20 direct reports. MS currently has 8 and that would actually be more if you took out the COO role. Sorry but a people manager with only a few reports is a waste of payroll money

For any....any telco... the cost of IT should not ever be over 500 million. Also only 2 percent must be of Asian origin to have anything useful. The IT cloud cost by itself is over 2000 million. Ceo is like a boy from marketing. I will rather put 2000 million in tv and radio ads. Ceo must wake wake up bad.....else verizon will take the spoils

I agree. There are too many L07 people managers with only a few ICs. Each L07 people manager should have 10-12 IC direct reports. Also too many directors (L06). Each L06 Director should have 5-10 L07 People managers. Stay tuned for my org design recommendations for L08, L09, and L10.

this company IT size is enormous compared to revenue. See page 32 for the 2024 annual report statement. Total Op expense is like 63,390 million. This is most likely all useless IT stuff.

Business Retail and TfB layoffs have been rumored since the IT layoffs in August. If it is going to happen, timing wise it makes sense to wait until after the holidays.

Everyone sounds surprised when this happens! It is the new world order. Expect it to happen and be prepared by saving as much money as possible. Keep your expenses down. No credit card debt, no car loans. Live modestly. Keep your resume updated. Keep your professional network current/ relevant.

I started investing a piece of my salary each paycheck into an index fund for emergencies like losing my job. It has grown into a years salary overtime. If I never need it will be for retirement.

It will happen. You will lose your job. We all will eventually. Don’t stress or lose sleep, be prepared!! No one is coming to save you!! Have a plan, especially if you have a family.

This is not a TMO thing, or an IT thing, it happens everywhere and will eventually hit everyone.
