Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Is anyone else worried that most of the cuts are outside the US?

It feels like they’re separating us from the rest of the world and getting ready to throw something even bigger at us down the line.

Next round no one will notice. And nothing will be official. They will be called efficiencies.

You will see.

@a1 Not everyone working in O&G is a frothing MAGA lunatic.

I personally think people need to get back to leaving their politics and religion at home. We all did that up until about 2010. Now every corporate job is a raging dumpster fire of culture-war BS. It’s exhausting.

@ag+1k6zjrm36 Absolutely no chance.

Big oil, especially American, is very worried about closing the dividend cost with such a high cost base. Crude price outlook below gives you an indication of the speed US Staffing costs will be slashed.

High probability this will start before YE25, possibly it won't start until January 26.

It is nowhere close to being over. Offshoring will continue.

First time working in the O&G sector?

What are you worried about? You will be fine.

“U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA): In its September 2025 Short-Term Energy Outlook, the EIA forecasts an annual average Brent price of $68 per barrel for 2025, down from earlier estimates due to increased non-OPEC supply. For 2026, it projects $51 per barrel.”
