How to know if your activities are monitored

Try to delete a folder that has a bunch of files in it (around 100-200M
If that is slow ...you are under surveillance
Compare with deleting that folder on your home computer

SSD access times are pretty much the same.
If you are running the same OS at home then that is your benchmark

There’s a process on Windows machines called sfc.exe (it’s Cisco Secure Endpoint).
It’s very deeply buried in your machine, and when it wants to run, even your mouse will freeze. Over time, it’s the process with the top CPU usage.
They don’t fear hackers, they fear you.

Years and years ago to the clueless here, they embedded keystroke and web browsing monitoring into WebEx to see which reps were using apps to make it look like they were attending and being active at CSX. Thanks to a bunch of reps out partying they took it to a whole new level on activity monitoring.

“Cisco” and “security” should never, ever be mentioned in the same sentence.

What do you expect? cisco works along with NSA on security monitoring and spying all over the world.

Cisco laptops are playground to test all the new spying technologies and fine tune existing technologies.

you should always assume that 100% of activity on work-issued equipment is always monitored, whether you work at Cisco or elsewhere.

It’s the monkey on your back that watches every key stroke and mouse movement including audio on Webex embedded with AI. G2 personally reviews anything that looks suspicious or un-AI using MPC and Agentic.

Enjoy your time while still around.

Cisco has so much kernel-level bloat on my machine and the dev experience is pretty terrible. Things that shouldn’t take long, take forever. 😂

Or just don't do things that are stupid or illegal on your work machine and you don't have to care.
