Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Severance

Has anyone (let go in early August) actually gotten their severance checks yet? Something seems really off.

The people I know who also got laid off haven't received their checks yet either.

Mine was only delayed one pay cycle. Hopefully they will get it all worked out soon

@ac Thanks for your well wishes, same to you!!!
You are certainly correct, it is a cluster over there. HR gave us the info packets with benefits we literally have to go digging for to actually find answers. (e.g. COBRA subsidy, career coaching, etc.) Likely so they would not have to talk to us directly or explain anything. And I'm afraid another clerical issue is happening because according to them, we should have received the distribution 7 days after we (in early September) signed away our right to sue. You'd think they would have at least emailed us or sent snail mail to let us know what's going on. But, the dysfunction is everywhere. It would not surprise me if they couldn't find a proper distribution list. This is maddening.

When your clerical error happened, how long was it before you actually got your payment after signing that document?

Just curious, because clearly the way that Chevron is handling this particular restructuring (from the very beginning) has been horrendous.

I'm so thankful for this site because it makes me feel I'm not alone in this tornado.

I got laid off in July 17 and got my severance August 17th. So you’ll have to wait one month at least

My last day was July 1st. There were several in that round whose severance was delayed due to “clerical error”. Was not sure if I was ready to retire but with the continuing “cluster” shown by company leaders, there is no doubt I made the right call. So what if I didn’t work until my original planned retirement age/date. I will be fine.
Good luck to you all!!!
