Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T stock down 9% over the past month

Ah the results of RTO are upon us!

Look at all that productivity!

That’s a 20 Billion dollar loss. Way to go Stankey and BOD!

Right after we started buying back too, the losses are even deeper than you think.

I sold out of all my stock after 25 years as soon as I got my notice. Why would I want an investment in a company that laid me off four months prior to my rule of 75. Roll it into a Roth as soon as you can. Get it under YOUR control.

@br
You can open a BrokerageLink.
In that you can buy whatever you want.
If you don’t know that, I’m not surprised you still hold T.

@b9 you can’t buy VOO in the 401k

It’s a non factor for Stankey. Just means the Stank will get more stock grants at a lower price so he can fly away with his golden parachute and addtional underserved money lining his pockets. Stephenson and Stank pushed the company to new lows and benefited from those lows while most employees sold off 401k T match to prevent more losses.

Sell it
Buy VOO
It isn’t complicated.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure this stuff out.
You don’t have to buy individual tickers, mess with options, crypto, anything like that.
Just sell it, buy an ETF.
Treat T stock like dry powder, and sell it before it has the chance to drop much, use the capital to buy something worth owning, then you’re basically getting match in something that actually has value.

This is very simple, just do it every 2-4 weeks, login, exchange to BrokerageLink, buy something that isn’t trash.

Love that I'm maxing out my 401k match and my balance is lower than it was a month ago. Good stuff

Why are you holding this garbage stock?
Why don’t you just sell it and buy VOO?

The slide continues. It takes a few quarters for the real damage to start showing up but order volumes are in the toilet and it is getting harder to hide that from Wall Street. Teach your employees to hate you, the job, and the customer and what did they think was going to happen?

@ac “seeing smarmy Stank taking his short victory lap”

Thank you for that comment, you described him perfectly! 👏

Glad things are back to “normal”.

Was growing tired of seeing smarmy Stank taking his short victory lap, congratulating himself for the stock going up a few bucks recently.

After it was down during the entirety of longest bull run in market history.

Maybe that letter got analyst attention and not in a good way. Would you invest in a company with a leader treating its employees like that? Hardly seems like a good place for a long term investment if you think about it….. speaks of instability and the street reacted.

Always sell T.
401k match? Sell it.
RSU’s? Sell’em when they vest.
Granted stock? Gone as soon as you can.

Countless higher performing places for your money in this market, including the index.

At least the Div Yield has gone up. It is still 3% less than it was 12 year ago when the stock price was $27, but who is counting!
