Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Can my manager see if I apply for a internal job?

Want to stay in company but switch teams. Wonder if managers get alerts that reports are looking around

Yes! They will reach out to your manager. Best to just confront your manager and tell them you want to internal transfer. They can’t stop you unless you do it on the sly then the new manager won’t hire you. You have to do it by the books.

Depends..... if your manager watches your monitor then, YES they know you applied for another job. So because management has to have a specific number of employees under them to keep their management title so they "might" not give you a good "verbal" referral..... BEST advice... don't apply here!!

No managers can’t see it but it’s a “requirement “ and a question from the recruiter does your manager know you have applied. I don’t tell unless I get a recruiter screen and get scheduled for a hiring manager interview

It's policy to disclose to your current manager that you're looking/applying internally, which is posted on Sparq. I only told them once I had an interview with hiring manager because you can apply and take to HR ask day without really getting somewhere. However, when you get to the offer stage, that is something they check (source: I've done hiring at Optum).

I am a manager and no we can't see when you apply, but I will tell you that the hiring manager with reach out for a release day if you are selected. They may also reach out for feedback.

Your manager will not know that you have applied unless you are offered the position or the hiring manager/interviewing manager(s) calls your manager to confirm your releaseability and or discuss your merits. I lost a position once because the hiring manager called my current manager and when he said he had no idea I was applying for jobs that was a no go for the hiring manager.

Managers do get a notice from recruitment once the offer of a position has intent.
And all managers have access to Taleo so yes, they can see.
The best thing to do is consider employment elsewhere. it's not worth it anymore.

No, we can't see it. It is courtesy to let them know if you have an interview scheduled though.

Yes, they can see everything you do. Unless you do it on your own personal computer and own internet.
