Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Should I quit ford ?

Ford work culture is decorated fully. All the high performing engineers are sidelined or made quit and ford management mostly promoting or favoring pets who are good at showcasing. I got few offers outside? This c×× nonsense is in big mess ? No way management is listening in anything. I want opnion other seniors who are at ford. I am at my mid level career now. Do you think it is high time to leave ford ? Or should wait things will change for good?

@bw If loyalty means nothing here, does that mean the real game is who can fake it better? Asking for a friend who’s out of popcorn.

@bx

F$ck 'em. Sounds like they took the butt-hurt route. How dare you quit them?! Lol. Take it as a signal you made a splash and pi$$ed someone off who needed to be pi$$ed off.

@d4 I quit without a safety net because I felt like I had no choice and things were getting worse and decided I was going to just figure it out. They convinced my to stay and I have regretted that choice ever since. Sometimes no safety net is still a better choice than staying. Lessons from someone who is reminded daily

I would say don’t quit Ford while you still have a job. However, you should look for a better job while you still have a job there. It’s the old wing walker’s thought process: “Don’t let go of what you got, until you got what you’re gonna get.”

Finally people are taking bold steps and posting truth on LinkedIn about how worst are the conditions at ford. Wish everyone had courage to speak the truth

I resigned last Friday and manager did not bother to talk to me at all. Hr just gave Monday as last working day. I worked in ford last 4 years but disappointed that manager did not bother even to have 1 to 1 meeting

I resigned and joining new company. Ford top management does not know how to retain talent. 6 years of time vested in ford canada. Twice got offers to leave but fooled by the management. So don't stay no matter what.

@ab Do you think the Ford Racing and motorsports jobs would be worth it? My thought is they’d be different being outside of production work.

@a1 and for those considering relocating to take a job offer from Ford or quitting another job… don’t.

I am located in Dearborn. I am 100% that situation is not going to be better anytime soon. If you are located in Dearborn, I suggest you quit, and it is the right time. Top management is clueless, so go. I am at the senior manager level in Dearborn, and no other choice for me.

I am at ford canada I feel the same. If you are offered better job outside, just quit. Ford will go further worse due to bad and stupid leadership at many levels. I am 55 plus years now. Just hanging thats all. Quit ford. All the best
