Don’t Worry, If You Process Credit & Rebills, You’ll Never Get Laid Off

As a newcomer, it’s absolutely shocking how much billing is credited and rebilled on a daily basis.

They could easily create a whole department that performs this function 24/7/365.

Is it the company’s processes, people, technology?

Like hly sht, get it together.

Yes, push back on customers who are already questioning the need of printers particularly A3. Are page volumes today higher than 2019 ? Granted it does it better but Tech doesn’t really do anything functionally different since 1999. Copy, Print, Scan and (gag reflex) fax... Millennials look at these boxes; “Why? You payin’ how much? I could buy 20 washing machines that’d be infinitely more useful, less of a pain and still have a couple bucks left over for detergent and two Brother printers for Alice and Tom. After 24 months also would n’t have an arrogant sales rep pestering me to upgrade to another box that... WE DONT NEED!”
Just do the job. Drink your coffee and thank customers for their philanthropy!

@sh Agreed, there’s absolutely no reason for all the estimations. Customers must be held accountable to submit meter reads regularly. If the company had any backbone, they would charge the customers a late fee. What other company estimates your usage like this? Imagine a cell phone provider or utility company coming up with some kooky formula based on an overall model average from other users and then charging you that amount. They do this because they are determined to push billing & revenue through the pipeline to beef up their numbers. It’s quite unethical. I get that they don’t want to leave billing schedules open indefinitely, but again, if the customer doesn’t cooperate, then punish them. This is why I laugh when they claim their invoice accuracy is almost 100%. You can’t count estimations as being accurate, because what are the odds that your estimation is correct? PROBABLY ZERO!

The billing dept is a joke.. Not only is there a ton of credit/rebills like the original poster mentioned, but the amount of estimations and advancements is mind blowing... If the higher ups stop fluffing the projections and revenue there wouldnt be an issue.. You can only do this for so long... Wonder if that will be brought up in the next town hall meeting along with the "so-called" survey results?!

Inept sales reps. Their managers would challenge them to smarten up but are terrified of stilettos and baseless indignation.

Guess all of this is Sammy's idea of "change management." More like chaos management.

Old, very old technology and design based on one person.

Hey, if you don’t make the target, just accrue indefinitely! There’s your cheat code. Who needs Generally Accepted Accounting Principles? Their auditor must be Mr. Magoo.

Kyoshi my a-s. Enron's books were cleaner than Canon's.

Sounds like Enron when that company counted expenses as profit to deceive investors, employees, customers and shareholders. Dysfunctional much, Canon?
