Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

98% of us are now AI trained? Really?

Nosferatu Robin was announcing to finance media that with BNY’s updated Eliza platform, 98% of employees are trained on AI.

Rumpled Robin said, 98% of BNY employees have received generative AI training and regularly use Eliza for tasks like check processing and code writing.

Gee, am I doing that now? I didnt know I could do that? I must be part of the ‘gifted’ 2%. We need to put this on our resumes.

Don’t use it and can’t in my position. Don’t care to. But I am “trained”

@ae - I recently came across a LinkedIn post that took me by the same surprise. It seems RV is recognizing a long-tenured, well-respected associate of 50 years. However, it seems a bit contradictory as this might be a way of notifying HR to put him on 'the list.'

It's unfortunate that long-tenured associates, particularly those who are high-priced in NYC, aren't held in high regard by the current regime. It's truly shameful that those who have built the culture are being marginalized and falsely celebrated, while the regime takes credit for their own so-called servanthood.

In reality, these long-tenured associates are often discarded as waste soon after the regime has had their fill, only to enjoy hearing their boot-licking sycophants praise their so-called exceptional servant leadership.

Honestly, I doubt that this 50-year associate will be around to celebrate his 51st anniversary with BNY. I'll even bet you a FREE Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte on it!

Here’s a story about “AI trained.” A goofball in India couldn’t figure out translating into English because Google translate was acting up (yes the need it to do their job). I told them to use Eliza and they said they didn’t have access to it. I asked if they had done all the prerequisite training and he said yes. He just had no idea how to open Eliza. But stats say he was “fully trained”

Gotta pay close attention to his wording, 98% were "trained" which equates to the two mandatory 15 minute "classes" that talked about AI and we all had to sign an attestation saying we took the courses. More meaningless drivel from a "banker" that has his degree in language.

This along with RV saying he was honored to celebrate an employee’s 50 year milestone with him. He didn’t celebrate my 35 years (and many other former employees long tenures with BNY) as I became a victim of his RIF scheme. Some comments to his LinkedIn post like “‘an exemplary servent-leadership in action”, “Great company great CEO” and “Ture (assuming True) reflection of BNY culture” made me want to throw up.
